Using the camera, a candidate image of the body part is captured and presented with the previously stored enrollment image. The candidate person aligns the candidate image with the previously stored enrollment image. On alignment, the candidate image is verified as an authentic image of the person and the candidate person is authenticated as the person previously enrolled.

The candidate is instructed to show the part of the body to the camera while the person leaves the part of the body unsupported by the camera. Using a camera, candidate images of parts of the body are taken and shown along with pre-stored registered images. The principal candidate aligns the candidate image with the registered image stored in advance. If they match, the candidate image is confirmed to be the authentication image of the person, and the candidate is authenticated as a person registered in advance.
